Senior Construction Supervisor Instrumentation & Control

About the role

The Senior Construction Supervisor – Instrumentation & Control leads the execution of I&C works on oil & gas projects, ensuring safe, on‑time delivery in line with design, quality and HSE standards. You will supervise installation teams, coordinate with multiple disciplines and drive progress towards mechanical completion and handover.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise day‑to‑day I&C construction activities, including installation of field instruments, control valves, analyzers, junction boxes, instrument panels, cabinets, tubing and cable trays.
• Monitor and verify works related to DCS, ESD, F&G, PLC, SCADA and other safety‑critical control systems against IFC drawings, P&IDs and loop diagrams.
• Oversee instrument cable laying, glanding, termination, tubing installation, calibration and testing, ensuring compliance with hazardous‑area (Ex) requirements.
• Coordinate calibration, loop checking, functional and cause‑and‑effect testing, and prepare systems for commissioning.
• Track contractor manpower, equipment and productivity, and report progress, constraints and risks to project management.
• Collaborate with QA/QC, electrical, process, piping, mechanical, telecom and commissioning teams to resolve design discrepancies and interface issues.

Required profile

• Diploma in Engineering or equivalent from an accredited institute.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in Oil & Gas or Petrochemical I&C construction (12 years for UAE nationals), including at least 5 years in the GCC region.
• At least 5 years in a senior supervisory role on major oil & gas or marine construction projects, with proven track record of delivering mechanical completion milestones.
