Senior Data Centre Advanced Systems Engineer

About the role

The Senior Advanced Systems Engineer is a strategic engineering position within Eaton’s Global Data Centre organisation. The role focuses on evaluating emerging technologies, shaping future data‑centre infrastructure and supporting the evolution of next‑generation mission‑critical systems.

Key responsibilities

• Research and evaluate emerging technologies and future data‑centre architectures across AI infrastructure, power systems, cooling, digital infrastructure and grid integration.
• Conduct engineering studies, technical assessments and proof‑of‑concept activities to validate feasibility and readiness of new concepts.
• Support the transition of validated concepts into engineering standards, methodologies and future product road‑maps.
• Collaborate with Global Solutions Architects, product management and technology partners, producing technical papers and recommendations.
• Engage with standards bodies, industry forums and consultants to influence technical direction.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline (Master’s preferred); Chartered Engineer status is a plus.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in mission‑critical infrastructure, power systems or data‑centre engineering.
• Proven ability to assess emerging technologies using sound engineering judgement.
• Strong analytical, communication and technical writing capabilities.

Required skills

• Electrical infrastructure design and implementation.
• Power distribution and integrated systems engineering.
• Experience with Nvidia or AMD technologies.
