About the role
Cognizant is hiring a Senior Data Engineer in Dubai to lead the modernization of its Databricks platform and the adoption of advanced features. The role combines hands-on delivery of Lakehouse solutions with mentoring teams and guiding technical decisions.
Key responsibilities
- Lead modernization of the Databricks platform and adoption of advanced features.
- Design and deliver Lakeflow jobs, pipelines and scalable Lakehouse solutions.
- Implement and optimize Unity Catalog, DQX, DB Genie and AI/BI workloads.
- Establish engineering best practices, governance and automation frameworks.
- Mentor teams and guide technical decision-making across the organization.
Required profile
- Around 6 years in data or platform engineering with deep Databricks expertise.
- Proven leadership in large-scale Databricks or Lakehouse transformation projects.
- Strong problem-solving, out-of-the-box thinking and leadership of deliverables.
Required skills
- Pyspark, streaming, DBR, Lakeflow, Unity Catalog, DQX, DB Genie and Delta Lake.
- ADF and Synapse, with exposure to Azure DevOps.
