Senior Data Security & Cryptography Specialist

About the role

Birbal AI is seeking a Senior Data Security & Cryptography Specialist to evaluate and enhance data protection across its large‑scale digital platform. You will work on applications, databases, APIs, cloud services and enterprise systems to ensure robust encryption, key management and secrets handling.

Key responsibilities

• Assess data‑security architecture and controls for applications, databases, APIs, integrations, cloud platforms and infrastructure.
• Review protection of sensitive data at rest, in transit and, where applicable, in use, including encryption, hashing, tokenization and masking.
• Evaluate PKI, digital certificates, TLS/SSL configurations, cryptographic protocols, algorithms and cipher suites.
• Audit Key Management Systems, Hardware Security Modules and secrets‑management solutions, and recommend remediation for weak or outdated implementations.
• Document technical findings, risk assessments and remediation recommendations, and support validation of implemented controls.

Required profile

• 7+ years of experience in data security, cryptography, information security or security engineering.
• Strong practical knowledge of encryption, PKI, TLS/SSL, key‑management, HSM and secrets management.
• Experience assessing cryptographic implementations and identifying weak algorithms, protocols or configurations.
• Excellent technical documentation and reporting skills, with the ability to communicate findings to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
