Senior Design Manager - High-Rise, Hospitality & Mixed-Use

About the role

Fisher HR is recruiting a Senior Design Manager in Dubai for high-rise, hospitality and mixed-use projects. The role leads design management across several projects and major workstreams at once, covering the full design lifecycle from brief and concept through to handover and close-out.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design management across multiple projects and workstreams, setting priorities, governance and accountability
• Manage the design process from brief and concept through detailed design, tendering, construction support, handover and close-out
• Integrate design needs with programme, budget, procurement, approvals and stakeholder requirements into a coordinated design delivery plan
• Take full responsibility for actions, deadlines, risks and design outcomes
• Coordinate consultants and contractors, resolve issues quickly and protect programmes, budgets, quality standards and client expectations
• Represent the organisation and its clients at a senior level with consultants, operators, authorities and other stakeholders
• Provide concise, decision-oriented design reports, risk assessments and recommendations to senior client leadership

Required profile

• Minimum of 14 years of professional experience in design management
• Strong experience managing design for high-rise, hospitality and/or mixed-use projects
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary consultants, contractors, operators and authorities
• Ability to manage design delivery across multiple projects or workstreams at once
• Experience managing design coordination, identifying risks and resolving technical and stakeholder issues
• Ability to travel within the UAE and region as required

Required skills

• Understanding of the relationship between design, programme, budget, procurement, construction and project delivery
• Strong reporting, risk assessment, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills
• Confident representation of clients and organisations at a senior level
• Proactive, hands-on approach with clear ownership of deadlines and outcomes
