Senior Draftsman – Power Substations

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Draftsman to independently prepare and develop civil and electrical drawings for high‑voltage (HV/EHV) power substations. The role involves creating 2D drawings, 3D BIM models, and ensuring multidisciplinary coordination.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare civil and electrical drawings for HV/EHV substations, including equipment layouts, cable trenches, earthing, foundations and architectural details.
• Develop and update 2D AutoCAD drawings and 3D BIM models using Revit.
• Coordinate civil, structural, electrical and MEP models, perform BIM reviews, clash detection and resolution with Navisworks or equivalent.
• Produce detailed shop, construction, section, detail and as‑built drawings based on approved design/IFC documents.
• Collaborate with design engineers, project engineers, consultants and site teams to resolve drawing and design issues.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Electrical, Architectural Engineering, CAD/Drafting or related field.
• 8–10 years of drafting/design experience, preferably on power projects.
• Proven experience with HV/EHV substation projects and multidisciplinary civil & electrical drawings.
• Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Fluent English (spoken and written); Arabic preferred.
