Senior Electrical Engineer – Project Lead

About the role

AECOM is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead all electrical supervision activities on a major construction project in Abu Dhabi. You will ensure technical compliance, safety, quality, and timely delivery from pre‑construction through commissioning and handover.

Key responsibilities

• Lead technical reviews of shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, ITPs and as‑built documents for compliance with contract, IFC drawings and applicable codes.
• Verify and optimise electrical calculations such as load, short‑circuit, protection coordination, voltage drop, earthing, lighting and cable sizing.
• Plan, assign and supervise daily inspections, manage NCRs/CARs, and ensure quality control of LV/MV/HV distribution, substations, switchgear, transformers, generators, UPS, lightning protection and ELV systems.
• Validate temporary works, energisation plans and oversee FAT/SAT, pre‑commissioning, testing, commissioning and handover activities.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in electrical engineering within large‑scale construction projects.
• Proven ability to manage a team of engineers/inspectors and coordinate with clients, contractors, designers and authorities.
• Strong knowledge of international and local codes (IEC, IEEE, NEC, BS, UAE standards).
