Senior Engineer – Construction Instrumentation

About the role

Penspen is seeking an experienced Senior Engineer – Construction (Instrumentation) to lead instrumentation works on oil and gas projects in Abu Dhabi. The role involves overseeing safe, timely, and quality execution of instrumentation installation, testing and commissioning in line with project specifications and industry standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise installation, testing and commissioning of instruments and control systems.
• Review drawings, specifications, method statements and construction work packages.
• Coordinate contractors, vendors, engineering teams and other disciplines.
• Monitor progress, quality, safety and compliance with project schedules.
• Manage inspections, loop checks, system completion and hand‑over activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation, Electronics, Control Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 15 years of relevant oil & gas experience, including at least 5 years in the GCC region.
• Proven experience in similar senior positions and in EPC/EPCM project environments.
• Strong knowledge of field instruments, pipelines and industry codes/standards.
