Senior Engineer – Offshore Structures

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Engineer specialized in offshore structures to join our Oil & Gas team in Sharjah, UAE. The role involves leading the design, analysis and delivery of fixed offshore steel platforms for a global consultancy.

Key responsibilities

• Perform and manage conceptual, front‑end, detailed design and engineering of offshore structures.
• Conduct in‑place strength, pushover, fatigue, seismic, boat impact and installation analyses of fixed offshore steel structures using SACS software.
• Administer calculations for platform modifications and assess structural integrity of existing platforms.
• Oversee detailed design of pile foundations, boat landings, fenders, offshore bridges, helidecks, structural joints, installation aids, equipment supports and riser clamps.
• Collaborate on installation‑related analyses such as load‑out, lifting, transportation, stability, pile drivability and design of installation aids.
• Assess static and dynamic response of structures to accidental loads like fire, explosion and dropped objects.
• Perform structural design calculations to supplement and refine automated code‑check results.
• Present study results to clients through verbal presentations or written reports.
• Review and approve engineering submissions from EPC contractors, sub‑contractors and vendors.
• Support feasibility studies, constructability reviews and construction phase queries.
• Supervise and guide engineers and designers in analysis, design and drawing preparation.

Required profile

• Minimum 15 years of relevant offshore structural engineering experience.
• Proven ability to lead design teams and mentor junior engineers.
• Strong communication skills for client presentations and coordination with contractors.
