Senior Engineer Procurement

About the role

A leading engineering and infrastructure organization in the United Arab Emirates is hiring a Senior Engineer Procurement. The role manages end-to-end procurement of engineering materials, equipment and technical services, working closely with engineering, project management and commercial teams to deliver projects on time and at cost. It suits procurement professionals with strong technical engineering knowledge and hands-on experience in infrastructure, utilities, power, energy or large-scale construction in the UAE or GCC.

Key responsibilities

• Manage procurement processes for engineering materials, MEP systems and mechanical and electrical equipment
• Review technical specifications, drawings, BOQs and project requirements
• Prepare and issue RFQs/RFPs in line with UAE procurement standards
• Conduct technical and commercial bid evaluations
• Lead supplier negotiations to secure competitive pricing and favourable contract terms
• Ensure compliance with UAE regulations, procurement policies and contractual requirements
• Coordinate with project teams for timely material delivery and monitor supplier performance
• Support contract administration, variations and claims management
• Maintain procurement documentation and reporting systems

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering or a related discipline
• 8-12 years of procurement experience in the UAE or GCC
• Background in infrastructure, utilities, power, water, oil & gas or construction
• Experience with technical procurement for large-scale projects
• Proven vendor management and contract negotiation expertise
• Familiarity with UAE market suppliers and procurement regulations
• Professional procurement or supply chain certification preferred
