Senior Engineer - Rotating Equipment (Gas Operations)

About the role

ADNOC Group is hiring a Senior Engineer for Rotating Equipment in its Gas Operations business unit in Abu Dhabi. The role provides technical expertise in the maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, overhaul and shutdowns of rotating equipment, so that plant production achieves a high degree of availability, reliability and integrity.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise installation, maintenance, repair, troubleshooting and modification of rotating equipment to ensure safe and efficient service.
• Review preventive maintenance plans and schedules, prepare task lists and maintenance programmes, and supervise their execution.
• Advise on chronic problems, review major repair and spare parts requirements, and ensure equipment meets internationally recognised engineering standards.
• Take part in risk assessment exercises and prepare recommendations and guidelines for mitigations and controls.
• Ensure spares availability, follow up new material orders, propose spare parts stocking (PFS), manage item change requests and remove unwanted inventory.
• Prepare new maintenance procedures, method statements and long-term activity schedules aligned with plant shutdowns; plan and coordinate maintenance with other departments to optimise manpower and control major and minor shutdowns.
• Support the development, implementation and commissioning of new projects, including mechanical design and specifications.
• Prepare and study plant change requests (PCR), and take part in HAZOP reviews, SIL validation, incident root cause analysis and studies of frequent equipment failures.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, with a professional qualification.
• 8 years of experience in engineering and maintenance of rotating equipment within a large industrial organisation, preferably in oil and gas.
• Extensive experience in rotating equipment design, engineering, construction, maintenance and operation in the oil and gas industry.
• Knowledge of HSE procedures and practices.

Required skills

• Familiarity with international design codes and standards, and ability to prepare design, procurement, construction, (pre-)commissioning and handover specification packages.
• Knowledge of major rotating equipment manufacturers' capabilities and shortcomings, and a proven track record of technical and commercial negotiations with them.
• Planning, organising, scheduling and coordinating.
