Senior Engineer – Stormwater

About the role

AECOM is seeking an experienced Senior Engineer – Stormwater to lead the design, development, and implementation of stormwater management systems for municipal and commercial projects in the United Arab Emirates.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop detention basins, retention ponds, and drainage networks using industry best practices and local regulations.
• Conduct detailed hydraulic and hydrological analyses to assess performance and optimise designs.
• Prepare technical specifications, engineering drawings, and construction documents with CAD and hydraulic modelling tools.
• Oversee project implementation from conception through completion, ensuring quality and compliance.
• Perform site inspections, assess existing infrastructure, and identify improvement opportunities.
• Collaborate with architects, environmental specialists, and contractors to integrate stormwater solutions.
• Mentor junior engineers and support staff.
• Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources.
• Prepare technical reports, feasibility studies, and environmental impact assessments.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of professional experience in stormwater engineering or related civil disciplines.
• Advanced proficiency in CAD (AutoCAD or equivalent) and hydraulic modelling software (HEC‑HMS, SWMM or similar).
• Strong knowledge of stormwater design standards, best management practices, and UAE regulatory requirements.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills in English.
• Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
