Senior Facility Management Engineer

About the role

The Senior Facility Management Engineer will lead the operation, maintenance and performance of public beaches, waterways and related facilities across the United Arab Emirates. This role ensures that all hard and soft services are delivered safely, reliably and cost‑effectively, in line with contractual obligations and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day delivery of total facility management services for public beaches, waterfronts and associated public areas.
• Manage hard services including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, civil, structural and specialised waterfront systems, coordinating both planned and reactive maintenance.
• Monitor soft services such as cleaning, waste management, landscaping, pest control, security coordination and public‑area upkeep.
• Prepare scopes of work, technical specifications, bills of quantities, tender documents, service‑level agreements and key performance indicators for FM contracts.
• Support tender evaluation, contractor selection, contract award, mobilisation, execution, renewal, variation and close‑out activities.
• Supervise contractors, review performance reports, conduct inspections and audits, and ensure corrective actions are completed on time.
• Track contractor performance against SLAs and KPIs, investigate recurring failures and implement improvement plans.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, quality, authority and sustainability requirements.
• Develop and monitor preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance plans to minimise asset downtime.
• Maintain asset registers, condition assessments, maintenance histories and lifecycle plans using FM or asset‑management systems.
• Prepare and control operating and capital budgets, verify contractor claims and identify cost‑optimisation opportunities.

Required profile

• At least 120 months (10 years) of relevant experience in facility management of public beaches, waterfronts or similar assets.
• No specific academic qualification required.
