Senior Fire Life Safety Engineer

About the role

The Senior Fire Life Safety Engineer oversees the performance, compliance and continuous improvement of Fire Life Safety (FLS) systems across large-scale infrastructure and facilities. The role ensures that fire protection systems, evacuation strategies and life safety infrastructure meet local Civil Defense regulations, international fire safety standards and operational needs in a complex 24/7 environment, providing technical leadership to facilities management and project teams.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee performance and compliance of fire protection and life safety systems, including monitoring installation, commissioning and maintenance
• Ensure systems comply with UAE Civil Defense regulations and international standards such as NFPA, and conduct site inspections
• Coordinate Civil Defense approvals, submissions and inspections, and keep fire safety documentation and procedures compliant
• Support evacuation strategies and building occupancy safety guidelines
• Monitor contractors and suppliers, support Annual Maintenance Contract (AMC) scopes and evaluate supplier performance
• Review operations, identify gaps and risks, and recommend technical improvements
• Maintain performance records and databases, monitor preventive maintenance schedules, and provide technical reports to management

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering or a related technical field; professional certifications in fire life safety, fire protection engineering or safety management preferred
• Minimum 9-12 years of experience in fire life safety engineering or fire protection systems
• Experience in facilities management, infrastructure or large, complex, high-risk environments; regulated or critical facilities preferred
