Senior Full Stack Engineer - Fintech

About the role

Hoxton Wealth, a global financial services firm with offices in Cyprus, the United States, the United Kingdom, Dubai, South Africa, Australia and Asia, is hiring a Software Engineer to build and evolve core fintech applications across frontend, backend, APIs and data layers. The role suits an engineer who can deliver complex features end-to-end, integrate third-party systems and influence technical direction in a regulated environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain end-to-end features across frontend, backend services, APIs and databases
• Develop backend services mainly with PHP/Laravel and Node.js; Python/FastAPI exposure is a plus
• Build responsive UIs with a modern JavaScript framework such as Vue.js
• Own features through design, development, testing, deployment and iteration
• Design REST APIs with domain modelling, validation, versioning and error handling, and apply best practices for authentication, authorization, idempotency and backward compatibility
• Integrate third-party systems such as payment gateways, KYC/e-Sign, banking rails (e.g. NACH) and platform APIs
• Design relational data models with MySQL and PostgreSQL, write efficient queries and manage schema evolution safely
• Deploy cloud-native services on AWS (e.g. S3, ECS, SQS) and use Docker, Jenkins and Git/Bitbucket for CI/CD
• Use AI-assisted tools for coding, code review and git-flow automation, validating outputs for correctness, security and production readiness
• Take part in code reviews, testing and production issue resolution, and collaborate with product, design, QA and platform teams

Required profile

• 4-7 years of professional software engineering experience with strong ownership of production features and full-stack delivery, ideally in fintech or other regulated environments
• Ability to work independently and influence technical direction
• Exposure to spec-driven development is a bonus

Required skills
