Senior Government Relations Officer

About the role

Talabat is seeking a Senior Government Relations Officer to lead its regulatory and licensing functions across the United Arab Emirates. The role ensures that all licences, compliance requirements and relationships with key government bodies are maintained, enabling the platform to operate smoothly and expand into new markets.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the primary liaison with UAE authorities such as the DED, Municipality, Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Interior and Consumer Protection Authority.
• Represent Talabat at government meetings, hearings and driver‑related matters with the Ministry of Interior.
• Own the end‑to‑end licensing process for new branches, including commercial registry updates, municipal and civil‑defense clearances.
• Manage renewal cycles for trade licences, chamber of commerce registrations, health certificates and other official documents.
• Track and resolve violations from traffic, municipality and food‑safety authorities before escalation.
• Inform the legal team of procedural and regulatory changes affecting operations.
• Coordinate with marketing on campaign licensing, with procurement on customs clearance, and process contract attestations with the Ministry of Justice and embassies.
• Handle CSR initiative approvals, trademark registrations/renewals and correspondence regarding driver and customer information inquiries.

Required profile

• Proven experience in government liaison, licensing and regulatory compliance within the UAE.
• Strong network of contacts across relevant government agencies.
• Ability to manage multiple licences and renewal deadlines simultaneously.
• Excellent communication skills for representing the company in official settings.
