Senior HVAC Engineer

About the role

Technip Energies is seeking a Senior HVAC Engineer to join its Abu Dhabi team. Reporting directly to the Head of Department, you will lead the design, analysis and execution support of heating, ventilation and air‑conditioning systems for on‑shore and off‑shore oil & gas, petrochemical, energy and industrial projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of HVAC systems, preparing calculations, equipment sizing, ventilation studies, heat‑load and pressure‑loss analyses.
• Create system layouts, duct routing, equipment arrangements and airflow distribution plans.
• Produce and review engineering deliverables such as design basis memoranda, equipment datasheets, technical specifications, material requisitions, drawings and material take‑offs.
• Perform HVAC simulations using industry‑standard software.
• Participate in FEED, detailed engineering, EPC, brownfield and greenfield projects, coordinating with mechanical, process, electrical, instrumentation, structural and piping disciplines.
• Support procurement, evaluate technical bids, review vendor packages and ensure compliance with project specifications.
• Provide technical assistance during fabrication, installation, construction, pre‑commissioning and commissioning phases.
• Ensure designs comply with ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA, ISO standards, local regulations and client specifications, and take part in HAZOP/HAZID studies.

Required profile

• Proven experience in HVAC design for oil & gas, petrochemical or industrial facilities.
• Strong knowledge of international standards (ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA, ISO) and local authority regulations.
• Ability to work within multidisciplinary teams and coordinate across mechanical, process, electrical and structural disciplines.
• Experience in FEED, detailed engineering, EPC and commissioning activities.
