Senior Inspector I – Quality (Coating & Insulation)

About the role

Petrofac is seeking a Senior Inspector I – Quality (Coating & Insulation) to join its Fabn Yard in Mussafah, Abu Dhabi. The role focuses on ensuring that all coating and insulation activities meet the required standards, specifications, and safety requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Verify that weather conditions comply with applicable standards before coating work begins.
• Ensure manufacturer instructions and MSDS are followed for handling and storage of coating materials.
• Maintain material data sheets, traceability, and correct material usage.
• Monitor contractor performance, confirm applicator competence and certification, and verify equipment serviceability and calibration.
• Oversee surface preparation, blast profile, and cleanliness at each stage of the coating process.
• Measure wet film thickness during application and dry film thickness after curing, and control recoating intervals.
• Conduct visual inspections and specified non‑destructive or destructive tests after each coat.
• Document surface profiles, inspection results, and ensure protection of flanges, instruments, and other critical components during blasting.

Required profile

• Proven experience in coating and insulation quality inspection within an industrial or construction environment.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturer specifications, MSDS handling, and material traceability procedures.
• Ability to assess contractor competence, manage certification requirements, and ensure equipment calibration.
• Familiarity with surface preparation standards, blast profile measurement, and coating thickness verification.
