Senior Instrumentation Engineer - Offshore

About the role

Worley is hiring a Senior Instrumentation and Control (I&C) Engineer for ADNOC projects. The engineer provides advanced engineering expertise for instrumentation and control systems during FEED, Detailed Engineering, EPC and PMC phases. The role is primarily engineering-focused, with limited construction support, and covers design review, engineering coordination, technical assurance, vendor management and compliance with ADNOC standards, international codes and project specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and review I&C engineering deliverables: instrument index, I/O list, control philosophies, cause-and-effect diagrams, datasheets, hook-up drawings, cable schedules, loop drawings, JB schedules and control system architecture drawings, ensuring compliance with ADNOC, IEC, ISA, API and international practices.
• Review FEED and Detailed Engineering deliverables from EPC contractors and take part in design development and technical clarification meetings.
• Review DCS, ESD, F&G, SCADA and PLC documents, coordinate interfaces with telecom, electrical, process and mechanical disciplines, evaluate SIL studies, alarm management and cybersecurity requirements, and review FAT/SAT procedures and vendor documentation.
• Coordinate with package vendors, support technical bid evaluations and vendor selection, and ensure packages meet project specifications.
• Monitor EPC engineering progress and quality, take part in HAZOP, SIL, constructability and design review workshops, and coordinate with ADNOC and PMC teams on approvals.
• Provide engineering clarification to site teams, review technical queries and deviations, and support pre-commissioning and commissioning teams; occasional site visits may be required.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent from an accredited university.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in the oil and gas or petrochemical industry, including at least 5 years (preferred) in the GCC region.
• At least 3 years in a similar position on international major oil and gas or petrochemical projects.
• FEED and EPC experience required; PMC experience preferable; offshore project experience required; ADNOC project experience preferred.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of DCS, ESD, F&G systems, smart field instrumentation, SIL and functional safety, control system architecture, industrial communication protocols, instrument sizing and selection, and ADNOC engineering specifications.
• Familiarity with SPI / SmartPlant Instrumentation, Aveva Engineering, AutoCAD and MS Office.
• Good understanding of multidisciplinary engineering coordination.
