Senior Internal Auditor (IMS)

About the role

ADNOC is seeking a Senior Internal Auditor specialized in Integrated Management Systems (IMS) to strengthen its internal audit function. The role will support the development and maintenance of the IMS audit charter, standards, and procedures, and will lead both integrated and stand‑alone IMS audits across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to the creation and update of the Internal Audit charter, policies, and IMS audit methodology.
• Develop the annual IMS audit plan in coordination with the Internal Audit Manager, ensuring alignment with company‑wide audit objectives.
• Maintain the IMS audit universe covering organizational structures, processes, certified management system standards, applications, projects and objectives.
• Plan, lead and supervise IMS audits, preparing audit scopes, programmes and work papers.
• Conduct interviews, surveys and workshops to identify and assess conformity, compliance and business risks.
• Execute field verification activities, especially around plant operating and turnaround schedules.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of controls, risk management and governance processes, and provide recommendations for improvement.
• Document audit findings, working papers and recommendations in accordance with approved procedures.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in internal auditing, preferably within the oil & gas or energy sector.
• Strong knowledge of IMS standards and certified management system frameworks.
• Proven ability to lead audit teams and manage external consultants.
• Excellent analytical and risk‑assessment skills.
• Effective communication skills for interacting with senior management and operational staff.
