Senior Legal Counsel – Corporate Legal Affairs

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to lead the company’s legal affairs across corporate, commercial, drilling and subsurface projects. You will act as the primary legal advisor for all project functions and ensure that the company’s operations adhere to ethical standards and regulatory requirements. The role involves providing expert legal opinions, risk mitigation strategies and overseeing all contractual matters.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, organize and supervise the legal affairs of the company.
• Draft, review and negotiate complex contracts and agreements, ensuring compliance with UAE law.
• Conduct due diligence on contracts, agreements and deeds across all business units.
• Provide preventive legal advice to senior management and procurement to minimise disputes.
• Manage litigation and coordinate with external counsel, including arbitration and court representation locally and abroad.
• Assess contractor claims, advise on settlements and support dispute resolution.
• Guide and mentor junior legal staff.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of experience in corporate legal matters, preferably in oil & gas or construction sectors.
• Strong knowledge of UAE legislation, international law and corporate governance.
• Proven ability to handle high‑value contracts and complex dispute resolution.
• Ability to interface with external counsel and manage cross‑border legal issues.
