Senior Litigation Paralegal

About the role

Emirates Islamic Bank is seeking a Senior Litigation Paralegal to lead the recovery of claim amounts from defaulting retail customers. The role focuses on strategic management of civil litigation and repossession cases across Islamic retail products, ensuring maximum recovery while minimizing provisions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the full cycle of civil case procedures to secure favorable judgments.
• Drive recovery of bad debts through litigation, structured settlements, and negotiations.
• Allocate new cases to external law firms and monitor legal counsel performance.
• Maintain robust documentation, archiving, and compliance controls for all civil actions.
• Oversee invoice management and approval processes to control costs.
• Represent the bank in high‑level discussions with courts, experts, and customers.
• Provide strategic direction to EI Legal and EI RCR teams on case strategies.
• Coach, mentor, and evaluate team members to enhance performance.
• Conduct regular reviews with law firms to ensure accountability and optimal outcomes.
• Achieve financial targets related to civil litigation recovery.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years (84 months) of experience in civil litigation and debt recovery.
• Strong knowledge of banking regulations and Islamic finance products.
• Proven ability to manage external law firms and lead high‑performing legal teams.
• Excellent analytical, risk‑assessment, and decision‑making capabilities.
• Effective stakeholder communication and negotiation skills.
