Senior Manager - Airfield Design

About the role

Dubai Airports is seeking a Senior Manager to lead the planning and design of its airfield infrastructure. You will translate strategic objectives into safe, efficient and future‑ready runway, taxiway and aircraft stand solutions while ensuring compliance with international regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the planning and design of runways, taxiways, aircraft stands, GSE roads and related airside infrastructure.
• Provide technical direction and engineering oversight through concept, preliminary and detailed design stages.
• Identify, evaluate and mitigate engineering and operational risks for airfield design projects.
• Conduct engineering design reviews and ensure compliance with ICAO and GCAA standards.
• Advise, manage and communicate technical requirements to internal and external stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Airport Engineering, Transportation Engineering or a related field.
• 5–7 years of relevant airfield engineering experience and 7–10 years of overall professional experience.
• Post‑graduate qualification in Airport Engineering is preferred.
• Strong expertise in airfield engineering design principles, regulatory compliance (GCAA/ICAO) and airport capacity optimisation.
• Proven experience in airport master planning, design assurance, aircraft compatibility assessments and safeguarding requirements.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Transoft AviPLAN Airside Pro for airfield design and simulation.
• Advanced use of Bentley MicroStation and AutoCAD for drafting and modelling.
• Technical knowledge of ICAO and GCAA standards and their application to airfield projects.
• Ability to evaluate complex engineering solutions using analytical and problem‑solving skills.
