Senior Manager – Compliance & MLRO

About the role

BitOasis, the leading regulated cryptocurrency exchange in the Middle East, is seeking a senior compliance professional to lead its compliance and AML functions in Dubai. This executive‑level position reports directly to the Board and serves as the company’s primary regulatory liaison.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain the Compliance Management System (CMS) aligned with UAE virtual‑asset regulations.
• Act as the Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO), overseeing AML/CFT strategy, customer due‑diligence, sanctions screening and transaction monitoring.
• Serve as the Responsible Individual under VARA, engaging with regulators, filing STRs and ensuring Travel Rule compliance.
• Provide strategic compliance advice to the Board, conduct risk assessments and quarterly audits.
• Lead business continuity and disaster‑recovery planning to ensure operational resilience.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience in compliance, regulatory or financial‑crime roles, with at least 3 years in a senior position within a VASP, bank or regulated fintech.
• Demonstrated ability to pass a “Fit and Proper Person” assessment with a clean regulatory and criminal record.
• Deep knowledge of UAE virtual‑asset regulatory framework and Federal AML laws.
• Professional certifications such as ACAMS or ICA Diploma in AML/GRC.

Required skills

• Proficiency with blockchain analytics tools (e.g., Chainalysis, Elliptic, TRM Labs).
• Expertise in AML/CFT risk assessment, CDD/EDD processes and sanctions screening.
• Strong executive communication and stakeholder management abilities.
