Senior Manager, Tax – MENA & APAC

About the role

Checkout.com is seeking a Senior Manager of Corporate Tax to lead tax strategy and compliance across its fast‑growing markets in the Middle East, North Africa and Asia‑Pacific. You will act as the primary tax architect for complex, high‑growth jurisdictions, balancing hands‑on compliance with strategic advisory.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the dedicated regional tax partner for MENA and APAC leadership, advising on tax implications of commercial decisions and new market entries.
• Collaborate with the Global Tax team in London to align regional strategies with group objectives, especially around OECD Pillar Two and global cash tax management.
• Lead high‑impact projects such as restructuring for international expansion and assessing tax impact of innovative fintech products.
• Own the direct tax lifecycle for regional entities, including transition to and ongoing compliance with the UAE Corporate Tax regime.
• Design, implement and maintain transfer pricing policies and oversee end‑to‑end tax reporting processes.
• Build automated systems to improve tax function efficiency and manage relationships with regional tax authorities, including audits.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of deep tax experience, preferably combining Big 4 training with high‑growth in‑house roles in fintech or financial services.
• Strong expertise in International Tax, UAE Corporate Tax, OECD Pillar Two and transfer pricing.
• Proven ability to translate complex legislation into clear business risks and opportunities for senior executives.
