Senior Material Engineer

About the role

AECOM is looking for an experienced Senior Engineer – Material to lead material engineering and quality control for large‑scale infrastructure projects in the United Arab Emirates. You will ensure that all construction materials meet contract requirements, approved specifications, local authority regulations and international standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the review, analysis and approval of material submittals, manufacturers’ data and compliance certificates.
• Ensure materials comply with UAE authority standards and international codes such as ASTM, AASHTO, BS and EN.
• Evaluate alternative material proposals and provide technical recommendations to optimise project outcomes.
• Oversee laboratory and field testing programmes, validate test reports, mix designs and quality certifications.
• Implement and monitor Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and drive continuous improvement in material quality.

Required profile

• Minimum 15 years of experience (180 months) in material engineering or related fields.
• Strong knowledge of UAE construction regulations and international material standards.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and collaborate with contractors, suppliers and regulatory bodies.
