Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

About the role

Morgan Consulting Engineers is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join its Building Services team. The role focuses on delivering high‑quality HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and other mechanical systems that meet performance, sustainability, and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design and integration of mechanical systems (HVAC, fire‑fighting, plumbing, storm water, irrigation, treatment plants, medical gas, LPG) from concept to final design.
• Develop detailed mechanical plans and specifications aligned with architectural and structural constraints.
• Perform load calculations, energy modeling, and system sizing to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
• Use BIM tools, especially Revit, to create 3D models of mechanical systems.
• Coordinate with architects, structural and electrical engineers, and contractors for seamless system integration.
• Incorporate sustainable design principles to target LEED or WELL certifications.
• Ensure compliance with local building codes, industry standards, and safety regulations.
• Identify and mitigate design risks, lead design reviews and value‑engineering sessions.
• Continuously improve design processes and tools.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 12+ years of experience in mechanical design engineering for building systems.
• At least 10 years of experience on healthcare projects.
• Minimum 5 years in a consulting engineering environment.
• Proven track record of delivering complex mechanical designs.
