Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

About the role

The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will lead the design of mechanical systems using Autodesk Revit and related BIM tools. Working closely with the BIM team, the role ensures seamless integration of mechanical designs with architectural, electrical, and structural disciplines while maintaining compliance with UAE codes and sustainability standards.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and implement HVAC, plumbing, fire protection and other mechanical systems in Revit, ensuring code compliance.
• Create detailed Revit models for ductwork, piping and equipment layouts.
• Coordinate with architecture, electrical and structural teams to integrate designs and resolve clashes.
• Participate in BIM coordination meetings, conduct clash detection and propose solutions.
• Prepare design drawings, schematics, specifications and schedules for construction.
• Review and validate designs for accuracy, quality and constructability.
• Integrate energy‑efficient and sustainable solutions into project designs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of mechanical design experience, with at least 3‑5 years in the UAE across healthcare, residential, commercial, hospitality or institutional projects.
• Strong knowledge of UAE building codes, mechanical systems standards and sustainable design practices.
• Excellent communication and collaborative skills for multidisciplinary teamwork.
