Senior Mechanical Engineer - Electromechanical Systems

About the role

Careers International is recruiting a Senior Mechanical Engineer for an electromechanical company in Dubai. The role is central to designing, developing and implementing electromechanical systems and products, from concept through to production.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of electromechanical systems and components, using CAD software to create detailed mechanical designs compatible with electrical and software parts, and working with electrical engineers, software engineers and product managers.
• Oversee prototyping, coordinate with internal teams or external vendors, test and analyse prototypes, and iterate designs based on results.
• Work with manufacturing partners on the move from prototype to production, covering processes, materials and quality control, and resolve mechanical issues during production.
• Ensure designs meet standards such as ISO, ASTM and FDA, and help prepare regulatory documentation with the regulatory affairs team.
• Mentor junior engineers, share knowledge on emerging technologies and trends, and manage project timelines, budgets and resources while keeping stakeholders informed.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
• 8-10 years of experience in electromechanical product design and development, focused on mechanical engineering.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities and project management experience.

Required skills

• Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and familiarity with simulation tools such as ANSYS and COMSOL.
• Strong understanding of mechanical principles, materials science and manufacturing processes.
• Experience with design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA).
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams.
