Senior Mechanical Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead and manage mechanical works on large construction projects across the UAE. The role involves overseeing HVAC, chilled water, plumbing, drainage, and fire‑fighting systems from design through to final handover.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end execution of mechanical systems, ensuring compliance with drawings, specifications and contract requirements.
• Review, approve and control shop drawings, method statements, material submittals and technical submissions.
• Coordinate with civil, architectural, electrical and other MEP disciplines to resolve clashes and ensure seamless integration.
• Liaise with consultants, clients, subcontractors and local authorities to obtain approvals and close technical issues.
• Oversee testing, commissioning, snagging and final handover of all mechanical installations.
• Monitor project progress, manpower, materials, equipment and subcontractor performance.
• Identify design or site issues early and propose technical solutions and value‑engineering alternatives.
• Ensure strict adherence to HSE standards and site safety practices.
• Prepare and submit regular progress reports to project management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 8–10 years of experience on large MEP construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of UAE authority approval processes (DCD, DM, DEWA, Civil Defense, etc.).
• Proven leadership, coordination and decision‑making abilities.
• Excellent communication skills for interaction with consultants, clients and senior management.
