Senior Mechanical Engineer

About the role

The Senior Mechanical Engineer will lead supervision and inspection of all mechanical works during construction, ensuring compliance with design, specifications, authority requirements and quality standards. The role focuses on theme parks, attractions and immersive environments, requiring deep knowledge of MEP systems for show buildings and guest areas.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise mechanical construction activities including HVAC, plumbing, drainage, firefighting, fuel and gas systems.
• Ensure works follow IFC drawings, approved shop drawings and contract requirements.
• Review contractor submissions such as shop drawings, material submittals and method statements.
• Conduct site inspections to verify quality, design intent and code compliance.
• Coordinate mechanical interfaces with architectural, interior design, structural, electrical and specialist systems.
• Oversee testing, commissioning, TAB and final handover of mechanical systems.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering; professional registration preferred.
• Minimum 15 years of experience, including at least 5 years in construction supervision consultancy.
• Proven experience on major mixed‑use, hospitality, entertainment or themed projects, especially in the UAE.
• Strong knowledge of UAE authority requirements and international standards.

Required skills

• HVAC and chilled water system design and installation.
• Plumbing, drainage and fire‑suppression systems.
• Smoke management and clean‑agent fire suppression.
• Gas and fuel system expertise.
• Mechanical commissioning and Testing, Adjusting & Balancing (TAB).
• Building Management Systems (BMS) integration.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit and BIM‑based project delivery.
• Microsoft Office suite.
