Senior Mechanical Inspector

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Inspector to lead inspection activities on oil and gas projects in Abu Dhabi. The role involves overseeing the installation, alignment and testing of rotating and static mechanical equipment to ensure compliance with standards and project specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Perform site TPI for rotating equipment (pumps, turbines, compressors) and static equipment (pressure vessels, heat exchangers, tanks, boilers).
• Interpret engineering drawings, isometrics, datasheets, P&IDs and technical specifications.
• Ensure proper installation and alignment of equipment, including shaft alignment, grouting and soft‑foot checks.
• Witness and verify hydrostatic, pneumatic, mechanical run and alignment tests.
• Monitor welding, fabrication, assembly and erection activities, ensuring compliance with WPS, PQR and project specifications.
• Validate material certificates, inspection and test reports (ITRs) and documentation in line with ITPs.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• More than 10 years of experience in oil and gas field projects.
• Strong knowledge of international mechanical standards (ASME, API, ASTM, BS).
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• UAE driving licence.
