Senior Mechanical Package Engineer

About the role

The Senior Mechanical Package Engineer will lead the design, specification and procurement of rotating and material handling equipment packages for oil & gas and refinery projects in the Middle East. Based in Abu Dhabi, you will ensure technical excellence from concept through mechanical completion.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare datasheets, technical specifications, requisitions and bid evaluations for rotating equipment, chemical injection, fire‑water, produced water, gas sweetening, compressor and GTG packages.
• Conduct material handling studies, compressor configuration, driver selection and life‑cycle cost analyses.
• Coordinate with vendors to review designs, evaluate technical proposals and ensure compliance with ASME, API and ISO standards.
• Support process engineers in equipment selection and follow up on technical scopes of work.
• Provide technical leadership to the project team, maintain design integrity and deliver on schedule and budget.

Required profile

• Senior‑level experience in FEED, detailed engineering and concept phases of medium to large‑scale oil & gas projects in the Middle East.
• Proven background in design, selection, construction, installation, pre‑commissioning and mechanical completion of rotating and material handling equipment packages.
• Strong familiarity with industry codes and standards, especially API and ASME.
• Ability to lead technical studies and guide multidisciplinary teams.
