Senior Nuclear Risk Management Engineer

About the role

The Senior Nuclear Risk Management Engineer will design, maintain and implement risk models and programs for the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant (BNPP). The role ensures compliance with the Federal Authority Nuclear Regulation (FANR) and supports safe plant operation through rigorous analysis and guidance development.

Key responsibilities

• Execute severe accident analyses, including PRA Level II, SAMG analyses, and Fukushima scenario studies.
• Provide technical risk insights for severe‑accident drills and exercises.
• Develop, update and maintain the Severe Accident Management Guidelines (SAMG) in line with design changes, regulatory updates and new phenomena.
• Create and deliver severe‑accident management training across the organization.
• Prepare tools and methods to mitigate core‑damage events and preserve safety barriers.
• Detect early phases of severe accidents and estimate consequences of unspecified events.
• Review and update PRA, RIMS, Phoenix and Periodic Safety Review (PSR) procedures and documentation.
• Produce accurate reports on PRA, RIMS, Phoenix and PSR activities.
• Adhere to HSE, security and business continuity policies in all work activities.

Required profile

• Senior‑level experience in nuclear risk management and safety analysis.
• Proven experience with Probabilistic Risk Assessment (PRA) and severe accident analysis.
• Familiarity with FANR regulatory requirements.
• Ability to develop and update safety guidance, training programs and emergency procedures.
