Senior Officer Treasury

About the role

RAKBANK is looking for a Senior Officer – Treasury Operations (Fixed Income Desk) to manage the full post‑trade lifecycle of treasury and investment products. The role ensures accurate settlement, reconciliation and regulatory compliance while supporting operational excellence across the Treasury Back Office.

Key responsibilities

• Validate and authorise treasury transactions from Front Office, checking trade economics, settlement instructions and counterparties.
• Process secondary market transactions for government bonds, corporate bonds, sukuk, treasury bills, M‑Bills, EMTN and other debt securities.
• Handle end‑to‑end equity purchase and sale settlements.
• Monitor and process fixed‑income lifecycle events such as coupon payments, maturities, redemptions and call events.
• Manage repo and reverse‑repo trades, including collateral monitoring and interest calculations.
• Ensure timely settlement through custodians, clearing agents and market infrastructures.
• Investigate and resolve settlement failures, unmatched trades and operational exceptions.
• Perform daily reconciliations of securities positions, custodian statements, Nostro accounts and general‑ledger balances.
• Process corporate actions including dividends, stock splits, rights issues, mergers and tender offers.
• Validate treasury accounting entries and support month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end closing activities.
• Maintain compliance with Central Bank regulations, internal policies and audit requirements.

Required profile

• Proven experience in treasury operations or a similar back‑office function.
• Strong knowledge of fixed‑income securities, repo transactions and equity settlement.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Good understanding of regulatory and audit requirements in the banking sector.

Required skills

• Knowledge of treasury and securities settlement processes.
• Familiarity with corporate actions and treasury accounting.
• Experience with reconciliation of securities, custodial and Nostro accounts.
• Ability to work with treasury systems and related market infrastructures.
