Senior Operations Associate – Shops

About the role

Careem is seeking a Senior Operations Associate to own the performance of its Shops marketplace across the UAE and Jordan. You will work at the intersection of partner operations, strategic planning, and hands‑on picking excellence to ensure a delightful customer experience.

Key responsibilities

• Own the end‑to‑end performance scorecard for Shops partners, tracking order acceptance, prep time, accuracy, cancellations and customer contacts.
• Translate performance gaps into strategic roadmaps, identifying drivers of GMV leakage, AOV underperformance and take‑rate erosion, and lead initiatives from pilot to regional rollout.
• Manage in‑store picking operations, including picker productivity, pick‑to‑pack time, accuracy, training standards, tooling and process design.
• Build and defend last‑mile unit economics for each partner cohort, balancing delivery cost, speed and Captain earnings.
• Run quarterly and monthly business reviews with top Shops accounts, using cohort data to justify investments or interventions.
• Lead peak‑season planning for Ramadan and Dubai Shopping Festival, covering demand forecasting, capacity planning and surge staffing.

Required profile

• 1‑3 years of experience in operations, quick‑commerce, last‑mile logistics or e‑commerce marketplaces, with at least 2 years managing teams and external partners.
• Hands‑on experience managing frontline or in‑store fulfillment operations.
• Strong data fluency with Excel, SQL and BI tools, and the judgment to interpret numbers beyond charts.
• Willingness to travel regularly between the UAE and Jordan.
• Fluent in English; Arabic fluency is a plus.
