Senior Pharmacist – Hospital / Clinical Pharmacy

About the role

A leading healthcare organization in Dubai is seeking an experienced Senior Pharmacist to join its pharmacy and clinical care services. The pharmacist contributes to the safe and effective use of medications, supports patients and healthcare professionals, and takes part in medication-safety and quality-improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Provide professional pharmaceutical services in line with established standards.
• Review and validate medication orders and prescriptions, assessing appropriateness, dosing and potential interactions.
• Counsel and educate patients on their medications.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses and other healthcare professionals on medication management.
• Monitor medication safety, identify potential adverse drug reactions and support medication reconciliation and safe transitions of care.
• Maintain accurate pharmacy and medication documentation and ensure proper storage, handling and dispensing of medicines.
• Take part in medication-use evaluations, quality improvement, clinical audits and medication-safety programs.
• Help develop pharmacy policies and procedures, and assist in training and supervising junior pharmacy staff.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and professional standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy (BPharm/PharmD or equivalent) from a recognized institution.
• Valid professional pharmacy registration or license; must meet DHA professional classification and registration requirements.
• Relevant hospital or clinical pharmacy experience and senior-level experience in a healthcare/pharmacy setting.
• Preferred: experience in hospital pharmacy, clinical pharmacy, medication safety, medication reconciliation, inpatient and critical care pharmacy, transplant medicine, oncology pharmacy, pharmacy quality management and staff supervision.
