Senior PIMS Engineer

About the role

Yokogawa is seeking a Senior PIMS Engineer to design, integrate and support plant information management systems for its customers in the oil & gas and utilities sectors. The role combines system engineering, database management and on‑site commissioning to deliver reliable historian solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse customer requirements and develop system architectures, functional designs, tag databases and interface specifications.
• Configure PI Data Archive, PI Asset Framework, Exaquantum and ExaOPC; integrate plant data via OPC DA, OPC UA and other interfaces.
• Develop and optimise SQL Server queries, views, stored procedures and manage database backup, recovery and performance.
• Prepare design documents, test procedures and lead Factory Acceptance Tests, Site Acceptance Tests, commissioning and start‑up activities.
• Troubleshoot live historian, OPC, interface and performance issues, provide root‑cause analysis and corrective actions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer, Instrumentation, Electrical or related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 8 years experience with PI System, Exaquantum or similar plant information systems in Oil & Gas, refining, petrochemicals or utilities.
• Proven ability to independently engineer, commission and support historian solutions and communicate with customers.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work with minimal supervision.

Required skills

• OSIsoft PI System (Data Archive, Asset Framework, Analysis, Event Frames, PI Vision).
• Yokogawa platforms – Exaquantum, ExaOPC and ALMS.
• Microsoft SQL Server – complex queries, stored procedures, backup/recovery.
• OPC DA and OPC UA integration.
• Windows Server administration.
• Virtualisation – VMware or Hyper‑V environments.
