Senior Pipeline Commissioning Engineer

About the role

KBR is looking for a Senior Pipeline Commissioning Engineer with experience in MEGA EPC projects to be based in Abu Dhabi for a PMC project. The engineer guides the EPC contractor through completion milestones, from construction completion to pre-commissioning and commissioning, supporting the Onshore Completion Lead and the EPC contractor so that systems are completed, certified and handed over in full compliance with ADNOC standards.

Key responsibilities

• Guide EPC contractors and subcontractors on completion deliverables and implementations, and review their completion/turnover deliverables
• Verify mechanical completion certificate requirements and the readiness of systems for MC and RFSU certificates
• Ensure the Completion Management System database is populated reliably and used for tracking and reporting
• Monitor the contractor's mechanical completion and pre-commissioning activities day to day against the commissioning sequence plan and project schedule
• Take part in system walkdowns and final acceptance inspections, and support generation and tracking of punch items (A/B/C)
• Ensure completion milestones meet contractual requirements and report progress, issues and readiness status to other departments
• Assure the EPC contractor complies with company HSE regulations during construction, quality and commissioning activities
• Coordinate with the contractor, QA/QC, commissioning team and operations representatives, and support approvals of mechanical completion and RFSU

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical & Electronics engineering or equivalent from an accredited university
• 15 years of relevant experience in completion/turnover within a commissioning or operation-readiness environment, with experience in the GCC region preferred
• At least 5 years in a similar position in oil & gas or petrochemical projects, with preference for sour gas, utilities, power steam and generation and air separation projects

Required skills

• Well versed in the Completion Management System as a user; familiarity with large database population checks and quantification of completion data
• Working knowledge of systemization, P&IDs and completion processes
• Familiarity with API, ASME and IEC standards
• Ability to review technical documentation and certification records
