Senior Planning Engineer – Civil

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Planning Engineer with extensive civil construction experience to lead planning and scheduling activities across major projects in the United Arab Emirates. The role involves strategic advice, executive reporting and mentorship of the planning team.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and oversee all planning and scheduling functions for large building and high‑rise projects.
• Provide strategic planning advice and executive reporting to Project Directors, senior management and clients.
• Mentor and manage the project planning team to ensure alignment with delivery objectives.
• Direct preparation of extension‑of‑time (EOT) claims, delay analysis and schedule recovery plans.
• Approve baseline, mitigation and revised project schedules.
• Oversee resource planning, KPI development and project cash‑flow forecasting.
• Integrate subcontractor schedules into the master construction program.
• Support project close‑out activities, including final completion and lessons‑learned documentation.

Required profile

• 8–10+ years of planning experience on large building and high‑rise construction projects.
• Significant senior planning experience with a main contractor.
• Strong leadership, negotiation and stakeholder management abilities.
• In‑depth knowledge of construction contracts, delay analysis and claims management.
• Advanced understanding of construction planning methodologies and the Critical Path Method (CPM).
