Senior Planning Engineer – Rail Infrastructure

About the role

The Senior Planning Engineer will develop, maintain and control project schedules for a major rail infrastructure project in Abu Dhabi. The role provides planning expertise throughout the project lifecycle, identifies schedule risks and supports project controls while coordinating with engineering, procurement, construction, testing and commissioning teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and update integrated project schedules using Primavera P6, including baseline, execution, engineering, procurement and construction programmes.
• Perform CPM, float and schedule variance analysis, productivity assessments and Time Impact Analyses.
• Prepare weekly and monthly planning reports, look‑ahead schedules, progress dashboards, S‑curves, earned‑value reports and KPIs.
• Coordinate with project managers, construction managers, engineering, procurement, commercial teams and subcontractors to ensure alignment of schedules.
• Support preparation of Extension of Time (EOT) claims, disruption claims and forensic schedule analysis.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 8–12 years of planning experience on major infrastructure, railway or large‑scale construction projects.
• Strong expertise with Primavera P6 and solid knowledge of CPM methodology, resource planning and project controls.
• Experience in delay analysis, EOT preparation and Time Impact Analysis.
• Good understanding of FIDIC contracts and contractual planning.
