Senior Project Controls Engineer

About the role

KBR is seeking an experienced Senior Project Controls Engineer to join its Abu Dhabi team. The role provides integrated project controls support across planning and scheduling, cost control, forecasting, progress measurement, risk, change management and performance reporting for major energy projects.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and analyse integrated project schedules in Primavera P6, including approved baselines, critical path analysis and recovery plans.
• Manage cost control processes, budgets, commitments, expenditure, accruals, cash flow and project forecasts.
• Prepare and maintain Estimate at Completion (EAC), Estimate to Complete (ETC), variance analysis and cost trends.
• Monitor physical progress and earned value indicators, identify emerging issues and recommend corrective actions.
• Review contractor schedules, progress updates, forecasts, change submissions and invoice support documentation.
• Prepare weekly and monthly dashboards, project performance reports and management presentations.
• Support project risk registers, schedule and cost risk assessments, change control, assurance reviews and audits.
• Coordinate project controls inputs across project management, engineering, procurement, construction, commercial and client teams.
• Mentor project controls personnel and promote consistent governance and best practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
• Minimum 10-15 years of relevant project controls experience, preferably in Oil & Gas, Energy, Petrochemical or major industrial projects.
• Proven experience in PMC, EPC, EPCM, FEED or major capital project delivery environments.
• Professional certifications such as PMP, AACE PSP/CCP or equivalent are desirable.
• Excellent analytical, communication, presentation and stakeholder-management skills, able to work in a multicultural environment.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with Power BI and enterprise project controls systems is advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of planning, cost engineering, forecasting, earned value management, risk and change management.
