Senior Project Engineer

About the role

The Senior Project Engineer will lead engineering delivery for gas processing facilities and pipelines, overseeing the full project lifecycle from concept to handover.

Key responsibilities

• Apply standard project management processes and tools, ensuring logical execution sequences.
• Prepare engineering scopes, design criteria and basis for contractors, and specify required technical codes and standards.
• Develop FEED/EPCm tender strategies, compile contract documents and evaluate bids.
• Drive HSE processes such as HAZOP, HAZID, ENVID and EIA, and coordinate permit acquisition.
• Provide technical guidance, review and approve contractor deliverables, and ensure quality of all engineering work.
• Monitor schedule, cost and performance, manage design changes and variations, and oversee pre‑commissioning and commissioning.
• Document lessons learned and ensure orderly project close‑out.

Required profile

• 10‑15 years of project engineering experience in oil & gas facilities or pipelines.
• 4‑8 years managing engineering and EPC contracts in a senior capacity.
• Minimum 5 years as a design or construction engineer, with construction, commissioning and early‑operations exposure.
• Experience in the GCC region is advantageous.
• Fluent in written and spoken English, willing to travel to sites.

Required skills

• Multidisciplinary engineering practices (process, pipeline, piping, instrumentation, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical).
• Project management and technical guidance.
• HSE standards and safety studies (HAZOP, HAZID, ENVID, EIA).
• Construction commissioning.
• Proficiency with MS Office tools, including Gantt charts.
