Senior Quality Inspector – Coating, Insulation & Refractory

About the role

Petrofac is seeking a Senior Quality Inspector to lead coating, insulation and refractory inspections on its Abu Dhabi site. You will ensure that all surface preparation, application and testing activities meet the required standards, safety regulations and client specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Verify weather conditions and environmental constraints before coating work begins.
• Ensure compliance with manufacturers’ instructions, MSDS requirements and material traceability.
• Monitor contractor performance, confirm applicator competence and certification, and check equipment serviceability.
• Maintain and calibrate inspection and test equipment; ensure personnel are trained in its use.
• Oversee surface preparation, blast profile, and cleanliness at each stage of the coating process.
• Measure wet film thickness during application and dry film thickness after curing; control recoating intervals.
• Conduct visual inspections after each coat and witness destructive tests as required.
• Protect weld areas, flanges, instruments and other critical components before blasting.

Required profile

• Senior‑level experience in quality inspection for coating, insulation or refractory projects.
• Strong knowledge of relevant standards, specifications and safety procedures.
• Ability to work on a hybrid schedule, attending the Abu Dhabi site at least three days per week.
