Senior Quality Inspector – Welding & Coating

About the role

Petrofac is seeking a Senior Quality Inspector to lead welding and coating inspections on its Abu Dhabi site. You will ensure that all fabrication, installation, and testing activities meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and report on fabrication, erection, and testing of process piping, steel structures, tanks, vessels and metallic items.
• Review Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Records (PQR) and weld maps.
• Witness welder qualifications and verify proper storage, handling and traceability of welding consumables.
• Ensure welding equipment is serviceable and calibrated.
• Conduct timely visual and dimensional inspections during fabrication and construction.
• Monitor welding process parameters against approved procedures and project specifications.
• Prepare and review fit‑up, final visual, and daily welding reports.
• Review test records, including post‑weld heat treatment (PWHT) charts, for compliance.
• Oversee coating activities, ensuring weather conditions, MSDS compliance and material traceability.

Required profile

• Proven experience in welding and coating inspection on large‑scale industrial projects.
• Strong knowledge of WPS, PQR, weld maps and welding consumable control.
• Ability to assess equipment calibration status and verify welder qualifications.
• Familiarity with PWHT documentation and coating standards.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce clear inspection reports.
