Senior Resident Engineer

About the role

AECOM is seeking an experienced Senior Resident Engineer to lead large‑scale construction projects in Abu Dhabi. You will be responsible for delivering high‑quality outcomes, ensuring compliance with UAE regulations, and driving project success from inception through completion.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee and manage multi‑million‑dollar construction projects, ensuring on‑time and on‑budget delivery.
• Lead on‑site engineering teams, providing clear direction and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Conduct thorough inspections of workmanship, materials, and construction methods to maintain quality standards.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, consultants, and stakeholders to resolve technical issues and streamline processes.
• Review, analyze, and approve shop drawings, material submittals, and change orders.
• Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources, implementing innovative solutions to optimize efficiency.
• Ensure strict adherence to UAE building codes, safety regulations, environmental standards, and local compliance requirements.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to improve workflows, communication, and continuous improvement.
• Implement and oversee sustainable construction practices.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Resident Engineer or similar senior engineering role on large construction projects.
• Strong leadership and mentorship abilities.
• In‑depth knowledge of UAE building codes and safety regulations.
• Excellent problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.
• Ability to manage budgets, schedules, and multidisciplinary teams.
