Senior Site Reliability / GitOps Engineer

About the role

Canonical is seeking a Senior Site Reliability / GitOps Engineer to join its Information Systems team. The role focuses on automating operations across private and public clouds, leveraging open-source infrastructure-as-code tools and Canonical’s own products.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain infrastructure-as-code pipelines for Canonical’s production services.
• Develop and enhance GitOps workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and automation scripts.
• Monitor, troubleshoot and optimise services using Prometheus, Grafana and Elasticsearch.
• Collaborate with product developers to provide feedback, file bugs and contribute pull requests.
• Support a global SRE team to ensure high availability for services used by over 60 million Ubuntu users.

Required profile

• Senior-level experience in site reliability engineering or DevOps.
• Strong passion for Linux and open-source technologies.
• Proven track record of automating IT operations and using Infrastructure as Code.
• Ability to work independently and contribute to a distributed, remote-first team.
