Senior Solution Engineer - Application Development

About the role

Couchbase, the operational data platform for AI, is hiring a Senior Solution Engineer in Dubai. Solution Engineers are the primary technical field experts who drive and manage the technical side of sales engagements, explaining how Couchbase solutions fit customer needs. This position focuses on customers who use the technology through application code and the application development process, so it calls for presales and software development experience.

Key responsibilities

• Work with customers and prospects in a consultative way to define their challenges and map them to the Couchbase ecosystem
• Educate prospects and become a trusted advisor, challenging assumptions and presenting innovative solutions
• Support technical and business discovery, including workshops and demonstrations
• Work with the sales team on account strategy and identify additional opportunities
• Manage customer PoCs and pilots, including acceptance criteria and issue resolution
• Deliver engaging product presentations and demonstrations
• Explain the Couchbase ecosystem to managers, architects and developers
• Partner with Product Management and Engineering to give field feedback and write technical collateral such as deployment architectures and best practices

Required profile

• 8+ years in a pre-sales, customer-facing or consulting role
• 3+ years of software development or related experience
• Experience designing solutions on a major database platform, including data modeling, indexes and query optimization
• Fluent English and Arabic

Required skills

• Programming in Java, Python, JavaScript.NET, C or SQL
• Familiarity with NoSQL databases or other distributed high-performance systems
• Experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Excellent presentation skills for technical audiences
