Senior Sourcing Manager

About the role

Al Tayer Group is hiring a Senior Sourcing Manager in Dubai. The role acts as the interface with stakeholders to deliver their service requirements and those of procurement, and leads high-spend, crucial-category sourcing in a timely and cost-effective way that meets group standards and department objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Drive strategic category sourcing, including risk analysis and mitigation, and coordinate activities within the assigned spend category to achieve the lowest total cost of acquisition while meeting quality and timeline expectations
• Build relationships with internal stakeholders, understand their business goals and supplier performance requirements, challenge demand and communicate procurement strategies and policies
• Ensure full compliance with internal policies and transparent, confidential sourcing processes
• Translate requirements into RFIs, RFPs and RFQs, clarify and negotiate scope of work, and use the corporate e-sourcing platform
• Create pre-negotiation plans, run negotiations with suppliers, hold post-negotiation debriefs and follow up plans
• Build detailed cost models and purchase price analyses, negotiate best cost, terms and conditions, and prepare and manage supplier contracts with Legal and the business unit
• Monitor and improve supplier performance, including quarterly vendor reviews
• Analyze procurement spend, conduct supplier and market analysis, and set up external benchmarking and gap analysis
• Manage and coach sourcing specialists and procurement executives, allocate projects and ensure compliance with group procurement processes

Required profile

• Graduate of any discipline, preferably with a finance or engineering background and an MBA
• Minimum 7 years' experience in a similar role within a procurement function, ideally in the UAE under a centralized procurement model
• Strong stakeholder management, negotiation, analytical and project management skills
• Market understanding of vendor capabilities, costs and supply chain

Required skills

• Detailed technical understanding of the assigned commodity or category of spend
• Experience with ERPs (Oracle or JD Edwards preferred)
• SAP Ariba sourcing experience desired
