Senior Specialist Sales Engineering

About the role

Checkout.com is looking for a Senior Specialist Sales Engineering to lead technical engagements with merchants across the MENA region. You will own the technical side of the sales cycle from initial qualification through solution design, integration and go‑live.

Key responsibilities

• Qualify merchants’ technical requirements and infrastructure at the outset of the sales process.
• Partner with the Sales team to provide product, business and technical expertise during pre‑sales activities.
• Design, prepare and lead technical and commercial workshops for prospective merchants.
• Contribute technical input to proposals, RFP and RFI responses for high‑value opportunities.
• Improve solution design, documentation and delivery of custom merchant integrations.
• Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to merchants throughout the sales journey.

Required profile

• 8+ years experience as a Sales Engineer, Solutions Architect or Pre‑Sales Consultant.
• Proven track record in a client‑facing technical role.
• Strong knowledge of API‑based integration methods and best practices.
• Hands‑on experience with at least one front‑end framework (JavaScript, React, Angular) and one back‑end language (Java.NET, Python, Node).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to translate technical jargon into business language.
• Experience responding to RFI/RFP processes and familiarity with payments industry regulations.
